I am an Iowa native and have a B.A. in Conservation and Natural resources and a minor in earth science as well as a M.S. in biological science with an emphasis in ecology all obtained from the University of Northern Iowa.

Before coming to the Bur Oak Land trust AmeriCorps program, I taught an undergraduate biology lab at the University of Northern Iowa, collaborated on a project between the Tall grass Prairie Center and the USGS doing a visual assessment of the quality of CRP fields across the United States. and spent 6 months with the IDNR Boone research center.

I am excited about my stewardship role with Bur Oak Land Trust because I love the idea of community service through AmeriCorps while getting to learn and implement the strategies of land management on native Iowa habitats to keep these ecosystems healthy. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling wherever I can experience something new, writing, searching for agates, and exploring nature.
