Answers to Holiday Conservation Crossword Puzzle

Conservation Friends,
If you entirely filled the holidays with family and friends, and long walks in the woods, and a couple of good books, and trying a new recipe, that is wonderful. But just in case you may have also had a bit of slack time, I offered a holiday conservation crossword puzzle on December 14th. And as promised, here are my answers to the clues provided. All except one of these could be pursued to a reasonable answer while thinking in a conservation/nature mindset. The ringer, the one exception, is number 48, where the mindset needed was versatility with bad puns. Hope you enjoyed the game.
