Coming Soon: Backyard Forest Conference!
Bur Oak Land Trust continues to actively maintain and steward the land we protect, but there is more and more evidence that having the community also maintain and steward their lands will significantly impact the success of all land stewardship. With this in mind, I want to let you know of a great opportunity to learn how to manage your backyard forest and combat invasive species spread. Trees Forever is hosting a Backyard Forest Conference October 6th from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm. Join the experts to learn about how you can improve native habitat in your woodland. Learn land management techniques, become an advocate for healthy forests, and polish your skills to be a better environmental steward of the land.
Participants will take part in a two hour walk in the woods with a forester to learn about forest health and history. Following the walk, those in attendance will be able to attend four, 45 minute sessions presented by local forestry and conservation experts.
